Clove Bud

Clove buds are the aromatic parts of a tree that belongs to the Myrtaceae family, Syzygium aromaticum. This is a tree that is native to the Pacific Islands in Asia. Clove bud oil comes from the extracts of the clove bud and has been known to contain a variety of medicinal and therapeutic properties.

Clove bud oil may be used in a lot of natural remedies because it is rich in essential minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, hydrochloric acid and vitamins A and C. It has been used in dental practices to reduce toothaches by applying diluted clove bud oil along the gums. Because of the oil’s natural analgesic properties it can reduce pain and irritation along the gums and hence facilitates healing of tooth extractions and other dental procedures. Its analgesic properties also make this oil an important ingredient of most natural muscle and joint pain relief products. It can help reduce joint pain that is common in arthritis, muscle and joint stiffness and so many more. Diluting natural clove oil into other base oils will yield an effective skin care product and could also help delay the early signs of aging.

Clove bud oil also has stimulating properties and is known to be warming and therapeutic in providing pain relief. Pure clove bud oil should be diluted before every use or it may be combined with other oils in pain relief preparations. And aside from all these, clove bud oil is also documented to be effective for arthritis pain, rheumatism, cardiovascular disease, inflammation and for the treatment of various digestive problems. It is one of the oldest essential oils used in medical treatment and is still being used till today for pain relief, diseases of the gastrointestinal system and so many more.

Clove bud oil is available in diluted concentrations and may be added to teas but for muscle and joint pain relief, diluted clove bud oil may be applied directly on the affected area or may be added to topical pain relief products.
